The broader disc golf community experienced challenges, reflected in our club’s operations:
Declining Interest: National trends show a 36% decline in disc golf-related searches since June 2021.
Reduced Participation: Tournament entries dropped, and several events were canceled.
Financial Strain: Many vendors and sponsors faced difficulties due to market oversaturation and declining sales.
Contributing Factors:
Oversaturation of tournaments.
Limited availability of affordable discs to attract new players.
General Funds: $648.54
No outstanding debts
Recognizing these challenges, we adjusted our tournament model in late 2024 to emphasize affordability. The SPC Open was a notable success under this new approach. We plan to carry this mindset forward into 2025, aiming to revitalize interest and inclusivity in disc golf within our community.
