Deep Creek Dreams recap

Post date: Jul 27, 2015 1:42:22 PM

This past weekend was Spike Hyzer's Deep Creek Dreams. If you did not play, you truly missed out on a gem. The course was immaculate. With two sets of concrete tees, water in play, elevation, from tight woods to long open field holes it offers everything you could ask for in a course. A shout out to all those who put in the work to make it this one of the best courses in the state.

We will start with the Junior Division. Shooting 59 strokes better than last year, and showing the rest of us what is to come, was Zack McCoy. He had a great second round that was played from the Longs AKA Deep Creek Nightmares posting a 784 rated 94. Congrats Zack!!

Next up is the Intermediate Division. Coming in 5th posting his best round at Deep Creek ever this weekend was Jacob Wade earning $30 in merch. BJ Reel came into Deep Creek following a 4th place finish at the S.H.I.T. and a 2nd place finish at the Zebulon Cha Ching and Zing. And after 4 rounds he got his first PDGA win!! Congrats BJ!! He shot 23 strokes better than last year which had him winning by 8 strokes and earned him $55 in merch. Way to go guys!

In Advanced Masters, after winning last years tournament, Beatle finished 4th to earn himself $45 in merch. Blue shot even par on the weekend to take home 2nd and $95 in merch. And a local, after shooting 26 strokes better than last year, Rob Nicks took home the win and $125 in merch. Congrats Guys!!

In Advanced Men, finishing 5th and grabbing last cash was last years winner Jason Scott getting $40 in merch. Coming in 4th was our Doubles points leader Dave Redding taking home $55 in merch. Finishing in 3rd was Bain Heffner earning himself $60 in merch. Winning this year, having to hit a 40+ft putt on the last hole and shooting the only 1000 rated round in Amateur on the weekend was Jake McCoy. Congrats on the win and good shooting BADGers.

Last but not least is the Open Men. After coming up a few strokes short last year, he made sure not to have a repeat. Getting the lead after the first round and never giving it up. Posting 1016 and 1013 rated rounds on the weekend and finishing 23 under par was Brad McCoy. Completing not only the local sweep of all divisions but also making it the McCoy show with both his sons winning as well. Congratulations just doesn't seem to do justice, way to bring it home and we will be wishing you luck as you compete in the PDGA Pro Disc Golf World Championships.

In addition to dominating the tournament. Our group also snagged a ton of CTPs
